Opportunity:United Way's Meal Kit Packing - Day 2

Volunteer at United Way's Meal Kit Packing event to pack 1,750 meal kits for local families. Each meal kit will provide two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners for a family of four and will be distributed to families across our region through United Way's partner agencies.
There are five different volunteer tasks available. When registering, please be sure to sign up for the task you are interested in from the choices below:
Shoppers: Shoppers will "shop" with a shopping cart to collect all the food needed for one box and then take the items to the packing station.
Packers: Packers will double check the shopping list and neatly pack the food into a box.
Movers: Movers, using carts, will take food from packing stations to taping station, then from taping stations to pallets. IMPORTANT: Repeated bending and heavy lifting required.
Tapers: Tapers perform one last quality check on the boxes, add the recipe cards, and tape the boxes shut.
Refillers: Refillers build boxes, restock food on the tables, and breakdown cardboard.
Flexers: Flexers will be assigned a role on the day of the event.
Please note that this event requires maximum participation from those in attendance. Please only register for a shift if you are able to attend the entirety of the shift.
The event will take place at the David. L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. Information on parking options will be sent via email prior to the event. United Way is unable to reimburse for any parking expenses.

Volunteer at United Way's Meal Kit Packing event to pack 1,750 meal kits for local families. Each meal kit will provide two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners for a family of four and will be distributed to families across our region through United Way's partner agencies.
IMPORTANT: Volunteers on Sept. 11 will help load the boxes into vehicles for distribution. Volunteers will repeatedly lift boxes weighing up to 25 pounds. The event will take place at the David. L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. United Way is unable to reimburse for parking expenses.
