annual Big Book Drop event! This event will see nearly 35,000 books distrib
uted to children across our five-county region to help them build their at-
home libraries and instill a life-long love of reading. Join us at Acrisure
Stadium, in the Great Hall, for the event. Big Book Drop is made possible
with support from Grant Thornton, the CentiMark Foundation, KPMG and the Bi
rmingham Foundation.\n\nSince the Big Book Drop started in 2019, United Way
has distributed nearly 214,000 books to nonprofit organizations, schools a
nd day cares focused on literacy through this event. With your help, we hop
e to bring that total to a quarter million books at this year's Big Book Dr
op! \n\nVolunteers will help sort, categorize and organize our inventory of
books. Tasks will require frequent bending and lifting and include sorting
books by age groups and preparing book orders for distribution to United W
ay's partner agencies and school districts. Big Book Drop is one of United
Way's most sought-after volunteer opportunities. To ensure that everyone ha
s an opportunity to participate, please sign up for only one shift. Thank y
