WLC is hosting the Poverty Spiral simulation for Next UP, followed by a gathering at Eleven, located at 1150 Smallman St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

The Poverty Spiral presents an opportunity to learn more about poverty in our region and build empathy for those experiencing it through a decision-making simulation. The Poverty Spiral will take place at the United Way office from 3-5 PM.

Opportunity:Distribute Toys for the Holidays from Stuff the Bus with United Way in Allegheny County

Join United Way of Southwestern PA as we partner with Allegheny Fayette Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO help distribute toys from the Stuff the Bus collection drive! Toys will be distributed to struggling families in our region.

We need your help to move toys and assist with distribution on December 7th and December 8th, when local agencies will pick up toys that they will give to families with whom they work. Distribution will take place at the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers. Responsibilities will include gathering toys selected by agency representatives and moving them to their vehicle.

Opportunity:Unload Donated Toys for the Holidays from Stuff the Bus with United Way in Allegheny County

Join United Way of Southwestern PA as we partner with Allegheny Fayette Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO to Stuff the Bus! On December 1st, we will be stuffing Pittsburgh Regional Transit buses with new unwrapped toys that will go to struggling families in our region.

We need your help on December 1st to unload toys that have been stuffed into city buses. Toy will be collected at the IBEW Local 5 Union Hall, located at 5 Hot Metal St., Pittsburgh, PA 15203. We need assistance unloading the buses at the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, located at 10 South 19th St., Pittsburgh, PA 15203. Moving toys will involve bending and lifting.

This opportunity will take place outside, so please dress warm for December evening weather!

United Way will provide cards and envelopes; however, volunteers must supply stamps for each card. Volunteers can bring new toys to donate as well, but it is not required. This will be an open house so feel free to stop by anytime!
